The Blend of Youth and Experience: A Vital Component in HRM

Have you ever heard about “flexible firm model”. In today’s fast moving business world, organisations are recognising the value of having a blend of young blood as well as experience in their workforce. This is a diversification of workforce. Now this is becoming a critical component of HRM. When the workforce had different age groups, different cultural behaviours, they all together brought unique value to the organisation that could drive towards innovation (Armstrong and Taylor, 2020).

What is the Flexible Firm Model

A flexible firm model is an organization that should maintain a core of permanent employees while also having a flexible workforce that can be adjusted based on business needs (Atkinson, 1984). This concept is further exposed in today and it’s just not limited to employment flexibility, but also diversity of age, experience and cultural background.
